How GM Protection Plan pricing works
Chevrolet's FAQ says covered repairs can be done "by any GM Dealer or authorized service provider", and that a plan can be added after the sale while the vehicle still has at least 1,000 miles or 30 days of factory warranty left (Chevrolet).
Owners report price steps at 12k miles, yearly price increases (historically around October 1), and an inspection requirement above 12k miles (TrailBoss.org, CorvetteForum).
Is it the same plan if I buy from another dealer? Verified: Chevrolet's FAQ says any GM dealer can do the covered repairs.
In general, the manufacturer sets a cost for each plan, and the dealer selling it decides how much to add on top. That's why the same contract can be priced very differently by two dealers. Before you sign anything, check the plan name, term, deductible, start date/mileage, and cancellation terms in writing.
